Last week, on October 21st at 12:39 p.m., God blessed our family with the birth of Claire Elise Campbell. She weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces and measured 21 inches long. We give God all the glory for her- Terry, Clayton, and I have prayed for an addition to our family for many years. I can still remember driving down the road one day when Clayton was about 4 years old and thinking-" He sure is quiet back there". When I asked him what he was doing, he replied, "praying to God for a baby brother or sister." I was filled with emotions as he said this because I had actually been pregnant when he was 3 and miscarried. Then in the summer of 2007. Terry and I were so excited because we found out that I was pregnant again, however, at 11 weeks, right before we were going to give Clayton the news, I had another miscarriage. Once again, on his own, Clayton had been praying for a sibling with his babysitter. I was so confused. I really thought God's plan was for Terry and I to have more children, but I couldn't understand why I kept getting so close, only to lose 2 precious babies. God is faithful and in His timing will bless us with the desires of our hearts! I learned so much through these difficult times, and it makes the birth of our daughter so much sweeter! I remember when we told Clayton that he was going to be a big brother and his first reply was- "This is what I've always prayed for!" What an awesome way to see God's faithfulness!
O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1
